Hi, I’m Sven Banik, the designer behind NOMI Studio. NOMI is my personal surface pattern studio, where I create designs for fabric and other printed products. I’m especially drawn to color. I love taking familiar subjects — plants, flowers, fruits, animals and everyday objects — and giving them a new character through unexpected palettes, bold backgrounds and unusual color combinations. Every pattern you see here is personally created, selected and refined by me. I prefer building a carefully curated collection rather than filling it with everything I make. I want each design to have its own mood and to work beautifully when it leaves the screen and becomes fabric. My style can change from delicate watercolor to bold, graphic and playful, but color is usually what connects it all. NOMI Studio is one person, many ideas, and an ever-growing collection of patterns made to become something.
